So it’s now October! This year is flying by it seems! I’ve tasked myself with many things before this year is out. More painting, sculpting, dusting down and playing my old Earlham alto are some of the more creative objectives! It’s wonderful to continually meet and be inspired by talented visual artists and musicians. As a consequence, I feel suitably armored to be more expressive via my chosen mediums. Indeed, we should all take time to explore our artistic leanings; creativity contributes significantly to our enjoyment of life! If we love life, we shouldn’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of!
With that in mind I’m happy to join a list of artist represented by the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery Chelsea New York .Moreover, I look forward to exhibiting at the venue next year. Fingers crossed, dates will be finalised soon and I’m confident it will NOT be a repeat of my recent Red Gate experience! I guess we have no choice but to learn and move on in life; a bend in the road is not the end of the road… unless you fail to make the turn!!
With a reputation as “The Most Beautiful Gallery in Chelsea,” the Amsterdam Whitney is located in the heart of New York’s Chelsea district, home to almost 200 galleries and the Museum of Art. The gallery hosts work by artists from around the world and boasts a distinguished client base of elite private collectors, corporate art consultants, curators, architects and interior designers, not to mention its share of diplomats and politicians.I’m looking forward to it and other opportunities I find as oppose to let knock on my door!
More immediate for fuelling my enthusiasm is the following exhibition by fellow Grenadian artists. The Grenada Diaspora Youth Forum (DYF) presents “We Are Grenadians,” an art exhibition that celebrates Grenadians’ history and cultural heritage. The show, comprising of portraits, photography and sculpture opens on October 9, 2011, at 3:00pm in the Gallery on the Corner, located at 155 Battersea Park Road, London. This art exhibition seeks to share, educate, enlighten, entertain and celebrate what it means to be Grenadian and promote Grenadian culture. For more information, see http://www.itzcaribbean.com/flyer_exhibition.php or write to GrenadaDYF@hotmail.co.uk
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous week ahead. Let it be a step closer to making your dreams become realities!
