Summer Countdown to the Sickle Cell Fundraiser: Sept 2011

Another week closes with the ‘summer’ holidays officially here.  The children are off school so I wish them all a happy and enjoyable break from teachers telling them what to do!

It’s also a busy time for me, catching up if I can with friends celebrating significant birthdays, jobs and those simply travelling by as part of their summer pilgrimage away from their own confines, commonly known as the office! I now embark on working aggressively on at least 25 new pieces of work for the September show. I’ll also be preparing a new range of prints and cards for sale on my website so watch this space! More information on the show, including guest performances by a number of talented musicians will be announced shortly.

If I haven’t mentioned this already, a percentage of sales from original work sold from the show will go towards the Sickle Cell Society. The Society was first set up as a registered charity in 1979. It was formed by a group of patients, parents and health professionals who were all concerned about the lack of understanding and the inadequacy of treatment for sufferers of sickle cell disorders. Your support would be appreciated

For the benefit of providing you with further insight into how Sickle Cell impacts on sufferers please watch the attached video clip featuring a young man called Junior. For further information please visit

Ps- Wishing you all a great weekend. May it be a happy, healthy and memorable one. All the best! D
